Hi! Welcome here. I am Dr Shaveta, a mom of twins, and an absolute food lover with extreme passion for cooking. I love trying new, healthy and delicious recipes for my family, and equally love sharing my recipes and experiences with all moms out there, who can benefit from these.
In this super busy era, most moms (working or not) tend to resort to quick meals in form of processed and junk foods without giving a second thought to nutrition. Here, I would help moms choosing healthy ingredients and guide how to prepare wholesome and delicious recipes out of our regular food stuff.
Although a doctor, I am a firm follower of “Let food be thy medicine” by Hippocrates, which also infers that prevention is better than cure.
Healthy eating is much underestimated than what we might think. We take it seriously only when we are afflicted with diseases, ailments, or overweight/ obesity: and all this mostly in adulthood! But you know what? Good nutrition should be the foundation of childhood, a habit, a way of life, because it is the key to a healthy body and has the power to keep illnesses at bay.
Kids can be the trickiest creatures to be fed. Yes, I know! Because I learnt this a really hard way, tackling my picky twins, who have entirely different taste preferences. But thanks to them, for inspiring me to revisit my medical basics, to research the internet like crazy, and to learn more about food and nutrition in the process. Every mom does the best for their kids, leaving no stone unturned for their benefit. I am here to guide all such moms, who choose good nutrition over junk to lay a strong health foundation for the apple of their eyes. When a mom chooses right, the whole family eats right… a total win-win situation for everyone!
On this website, I aim to provide my readers with the healthiest possible version of the most tempting dishes you can imagine, which you thought could only be store-bought, or have had in a fancy restaurant. It will comprise of carefully selected recipes of easy, wholesome, home-cooked food which is not only kid‑friendly, but is meant for the entire family. I don’t want to flood this space with just about everything, but only quality content relating to the dishes that are close to my heart, and which I truly believe in. There would be nothing unhealthy or inedible, because each and everything here is tried, tested, and approved in my own kitchen, a Doc Mom’s Kitchen!
