HOMEMADE ITALIAN SEASONING
Italian seasoning can be used to season your favourite pizzas, breads, pastas, lasagne, spaghetti, salads, soups, anything you can think of! It enhances the flavour and raises the bar these dishes.
If you think we cannot achieve this at home, that is not true. Let us prepare it with the ingredients usually available around us.
- Salt- 2 tbs
- Garlic powder- 2 tbs
- Black pepper- 1 tbs
- Dry Oregano- 1 tbs
- Dry Thyme- ½ tbs
- Dry Basil- ½ tbs
- Chilly flakes (or powder)- ½ tbs, or as per taste
- Dry Rosemary ½ tsp
Simply add all the ingredients into a mortar and crush and mix using a pestle. There you go! Your flavorful and peppy Italian seasoning is ready. Store it in an air tight jar. Stays good for a month.
(If ready-made garlic powder is unavailable, roast the fresh garlic cloves (at 150 deg C for 15-20 min) and powder it up. Sun dried garlic cloves can also be used.)
